Keep Your Eye on the Ball:  Operations and Chairlift Issues for this Winter

While the pandemic will keep all departments extra busy, you will still have traditional challenges this winter across your operations, and that includes chairlifts.  Using some recent claims and incidents, we will zoom in (pun intended) on challenges we anticipate this winter, making sure that even with COVID, we still have risk management practices to emphasize.  We will highlight emerging technologies to help our operations teams.

October 20, 11:00 – 12:30 pm (MST)

Risk Management Considerations for Marketing Departments

We are specifically targeting risk management issues for the industry’s marketing departments, and the interplay between marketing, sales and events with risk management best practices.  Our marketing and sales teams need to be in the room for these conversations—from contracts and communications, websites and social media, and waivers, to issues with outside vendors for unique events, competitions, and even pond skims.  We will highlight past examples of claims and incidents with a unique marketing angle, with key ASDA attorneys to help us elevate your marketing department’s risk management IQ.

October 27, 11:00 – 12:30 pm (MST)

Employee Challenges for This Winter’s Unique Operations

What a weird winter this will be, especially for your employees.  But remember:  healthy employees = healthy guests.  In this national seminar, we’ll address unique challenges with your employees for this winter, from OSHA, workers compensation, training, motivation, mental health, distancing, and novel ways of employee engagement.  Revamped locker rooms, staggered schedules, shuttles, apres-ski socializing, business immunity state laws, testing and other medical protocols.   We will highlight novel, proactive protocols embraced by thoughtful ski areas to share best practices for keeping employees safe and coming back.

Region by Region Breakouts:  Risk Management, Safety, and COVID Legal Issues

We will not be on the road making our usual regional stops, we are keeping our regional and state focus virtual.  With our local ASDA attorneys, this state or region-specific seminars will explore unique risk management issues in these regional breakouts including your local peer resorts and ski areas.  From waivers and releases, to claims and case law updates, we’ll also explore unique laws and regulations impacting states and regions related to COVID.  Whether it’s tubing in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic, or uphill and backcountry issues out West, we will explore these issues unique to your state or region.
