Pete Dye Golf Course (back nine)
Back for second year after a huge success in Palm Springs, is speed golf! It’s early in the morning. You know you should get that run in. But you might like to get a quick round of golf in. Why not combine the two? It’s Speed Golf, the sport’s answer to skiing’s biathlon!
Strap on your running shoes (no golf shoes required) and your running gear. You will play nine holes of golf as fast as you can. Choose four clubs that you feel will best serve you for this challenge. Players will tee off, one at a time, three minutes apart. With a couple of exceptions, the regular rules of golf apply.
The clock starts when you tee off on the first hole. The clock stops when you make your last putt on the final hole. Your ultimate score, then, is your shot total, plus the time that it takes you to complete the round. For example, if you finish the round in 40 minutes, and you shoot a 45, your Speed Golf score is 85. Simple as that. Price is $45 and you must pre-register with NSAA.
Thursday, May 2, 7:00 - 9:30 am
Rejuvenate with an early-morning excursion of sea kayaking at nearby Tybee Island, a pristine barrier island located where the Savannah River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Tranquil morning waters allow early risers to explore the tidal salt marshes surrounding the island, its unique maritime forests, and
the habitat of native dolphins and manatees. Paddlers will enjoy the sublime colors and gentle ocean breezes of an Atlantic sunrise, not to mention breakfast and coffee on the shuttle to the island!
DISCOVER THE DESERT JEEP TOUR
Thursday, May 2, 7:00 - 9:45 am
Experience the real desert on an exclusive tour with a private naturalist. Explore Metate Canyon and the San Andreas Fault’s unique geologic features, often referred to as the most tortured landscape on Earth. Pass through some of the richest agricultural areas in the world which allow the Coachella Valley to grow some unique crops, including grapes that never make wine, dates from around the world, the best white grapefruit in America and the sweetest corn in the west. See the beauty of a natural palm oasis and narrow, steep-walled canyons. The fee is $173 per person. There’s not a better way to relax and connect, and toast to the end of the ski season, with industry friends than our opening night cocktail reception. Outside, under the desert sky and the scented pergolas of the resort’s adobe patio, bend your elbow with generous appetizers and cocktails, socializing near the outdoor fire pits with our guitar trio in the background. The attire is "resort casual" reflecting the laid-back atmosphere of the Palm Springs desert at night.
FINAL NIGHT PARTY

Thursday, May 2, 7:00 - 10:00 pm
Adjacent to the Pete Dye Golf Shop
To capitalize on Palm Springs’ great weather and idyllic views, we celebrate the end of the ski season alfresco, with an upscale lawn party. Our menu will feature stations of tempting California cuisine and wines spread throughout the garden party, with tables, comfy lawn couches, and multiple bars to maximize the mingling. And we bring the music outside with a jazzy,r ockin’ band under the stars. We also take advantage of the verdant setting with driving contests (glow-in-the-dark golf balls and drivers provided!), closest to the tee competitions, croquet, even beer pong – this is not your father’s lawn party! As the sun sets against the dramatic backdrop of the Santa Rosa Mountains, the desert nights become cool, so a jacket or sweater is advised (and no heels, as we’ll be on the green).
