SPEED GOLF

Sponsored by ADG

Thursday, May 2, 7:00am

Pete Dye Golf Course (back nine)

It’s early in the morning. You know you should get that run in. But you might like to get a quick round of golf in. Why not combine the two? It’s Speed Golf, the sport’s answer to skiing’s biathlon!
Strap on your running shoes (no golf shoes required) and your running gear. You will play nine holes of golf as fast as you can. Choose four clubs that you feel will best serve you for this challenge. Players will tee off, one at a time, three minutes apart. With a couple of exceptions, the regular rules of golf apply.
The clock starts when you tee off on the first hole. The clock stops when you make your last putt on the final hole. Your ultimate score, then, is your shot total, plus the time that it takes you to complete the round. For example, if you finish the round in 40 minutes, and you shoot a 45, your Speed Golf score is 85. Simple as that.  Price is $45 and you must pre-register with NSAA.

TREK ROAD RIDE

Thursday, May 2, 7:00 - 9:30 am

TREK is bringing high end road bikes to Palm Springs for our enjoyment and demo! You can join the group for a tour around Palm Springs or find your own route, maps will be provided.  There is pre-registration required for the ride (numbers are limited to the first 25), and there is a $25 fee.  Bike sizing and set up must be completed on Wednesday to ensure an early takeoff on Thursday morning.

Participants must bring their own bike helmet.  SPD pedals are provided, so bring compatible shoes as well.  This is a great way to enjoy the early morning desert air, the local architecture, and flowering desert fauna.

Registration for this event is closed. Please email wendyg@nsaa.org to put your name on the waiting list.

DISCOVER THE DESERT JEEP TOUR

Pass through some of the richest agricultural areas in the world which allow the Coachella Valley to grow some unique crops, including grapes that never make wine, dates from around the world, the best white grapefruit in America and the sweetest corn in the west. See the beauty of a natural palm oasis and narrow, steep-walled canyons.  The fee is $173 per person.  Fill out the Registration Form and fax back to the ACCESS office at 760-200-0059 or via email to s.sarian@accessdmc.com by April 19th.  Please contact ACCESS directly at s.sarian@accessdmc.com if you have any questions!

WELCOME RECEPTION

Sponsored by Leitner-Poma and SMI SnowMakers

Tuesday, April 30, 6:00 - 9:00 pm

Masters Plaza

There’s not a better way to relax and connect, and toast to the end of the ski season, with industry friends than our opening night cocktail reception.  Outside, under the desert sky and the scented pergolas of the resort’s adobe patio, bend your elbow with generous appetizers and cocktails, socializing near the outdoor fire pits with our guitar trio in the background.  The attire is "resort casual" reflecting the laid-back atmosphere of the Palm Springs desert at night.

FINAL NIGHT PARTY

Sponsored by AXESS & Liftopia

Thursday, May 2, 7:00 - 10:00 pm

Adjacent to the Pete Dye Golf Shop

To capitalize on Palm Springs’ great weather and idyllic views, we celebrate the end of the ski season alfresco, with an upscale lawn party.  Our menu will feature stations of tempting California cuisine and wines spread throughout the garden party, with tables, comfy lawn couches, and multiple bars to maximize the mingling.  And we bring the music outside with a jazzy,r ockin’ band under the stars. We also take advantage of the verdant setting with driving contests (glow-in-the-dark golf balls and drivers provided!), closest to the tee competitions, croquet, even beer pong – this is not your father’s lawn party!  As the sun sets against the dramatic backdrop of the Santa Rosa Mountains, the desert nights become cool, so a jacket or sweater is advised (and no heels, as we’ll be on the green).
