Crested Butte Mountain Resort, CO
Project Title:
CBMR Enivronmental Board

Description:
Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) has recently revamped its Environmental Program by updating short and long-term objectives and formalizing the organizational structure. A new CBMR Environmental Board has been created internally, consisting of 7 CBMR employees and managers. The Board meets monthly to direct environmental policy, implement green initiatives for the resort and serve as a direct link to other departments within CBMR for better communication. An official CBMR Environmental Policy has been adopted and is now posted on our website skicb.com. The Environmental Board has created a priority list of over 36 initiative goals which now creates the framework to successfully plan and budget for incremental environmental improvements at the resort. Working with Crested Butte’s Office for Energy Efficiency (ORE), Mt. Crested Butte and Gunnison County, CBMR is currently involved in developing the Gunnison County Energy Action Plan which addresses climate change and the reduction of carbon emissions in the Gunnison Valley.
