Mammoth, CA
Project Title:
The Naturalist Program

Description:
The program focuses on the unique environmental attributes and human history of the Mammoth Lakes area, as well as natural resource use and preservation. Trained guides who focus on these areas and on seasonal issues give tours year-round. These tours are to designed to be educational, but entertaining and recreational as well, appealing to a broad base of participants. Self-guided tours also are available. To provide feedback and measurements of the program, comment cards and tally sheets are used. Since 1993, typical winter attendance numbers range between 2,500 and 5,000 program participants per season (depending upon snow conditions).
