Project Title:
On-mountain Birdland Nature Center

Description:
This center provides attractive and informative displays about the alpine environment, hands-on and interactive learning opportunities for children, a resource center with books, field guides, information about the ecology of the mountain, and a comfortable shelter from the weather. The Nature Center is housed in a renovated building at mid-mountain that is accessible by beginner skiers. The building originally served as a lift station for a short rope tow.

The Golden Eagle Awards for Environmental Excellence were established in 1993 to recognize the environmental achievements of ski areas. Clif Bar & Co. administers the awards program.  Judges for the Golden Eagle Awards include representatives from the Trust for Public Land, U.S. Forest Service, Wildlife Habitat Council, EPA, Natural Capitalism Solutions, Native Energy, Bonneville Environmental Foundation, Ecos Corporation, Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, Clif Bar, Babes in the Backcountry and National Ski Areas Association.  For further information, visit clifbar.com.
