Water Use For Snowmaking
Telluride Ski & Golf Resort, CO
Project Title:
Water Projects

Description:
The old water storage pond has been restored to its original stream channel state and the area has been replanted with plants grown from native seeds collected on the site. The water storage facility was reconstructed in an upland area high on the mountain where pumping costs and consumption volumes are less. In addition, new high-efficiency snowmaking guns use less energy and reduce water loss. To avoid impacts to the watershed, the resort continuously monitors streamflow variations, and collects water only during high-flow times of the year.
