Description:
To decrease the environmental impacts of outdated water use techniques for snowmaking, the resort constructed a 6-mile underground pipeline from Waterbury Reservoir to the mountain for much-needed snowmaking upgrades. The capital for this project came from the Spruce development.

The Golden Eagle Awards for Environmental Excellence were established in 1993 to recognize the environmental achievements of ski areas.
