Ske-cology; Trail Map Communication; Recycling Video Orientation; E-mail Recycling Tip of the Week

Description:
Ske-cology is an interpretive wildlife education program geared toward educating Beaver Creek’s guests. In addition, information is provided via the resort’s winter and summer trail maps. Beaver Creek presents an environmental video promoting recycling and the Sustainable Slopes environmental charter during all new employee orientation sessions. In its weekly email employee newsletter, the Monday Evening Memo, the resort also includes a “Sustainable Slopes Tip of the Week.”

The Golden Eagle Awards for Environmental Excellence were established in 1993 to recognize the environmental achievements of ski areas. Clif Bar & Co. administers the awards program.  Judges for the Golden Eagle Awards include representatives from the Trust for Public Land, U.S. Forest Service, Wildlife Habitat Council, EPA, Natural Capitalism Solutions, Native Energy, Bonneville Environmental Foundation, Ecos Corporation, Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, Clif Bar, Babes in the Backcountry and National Ski Areas Association.  For further information, visit clifbar.com.
