Project Title:
Sustainable Settings at Compass Ecological Literacy through Wetlands Development

Description:
Students constructed a wetland for the Sustainable Settings site. The wetland created a wildlife habitat and provided a model for landowners in creating such ponds. The site also was an educational resource for valley schools and visitors, and established a reservoir for irrigation water for the campus.

The Golden Eagle Awards for Environmental Excellence were established in 1993 to recognize the environmental achievements of ski areas. Clif Bar & Co. administers the awards program.  Judges for the Golden Eagle Awards include representatives from the Trust for Public Land, U.S. Forest Service, Wildlife Habitat Council, EPA, Natural Capitalism Solutions, Native Energy, Bonneville Environmental Foundation, Ecos Corporation, Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, Clif Bar, Babes in the Backcountry and National Ski Areas Association.  For further information, visit clifbar.com.
