Water Use For Snowmaking
Keystone Resort, CO
Project Title:
Snowmaking Study

Description:
Keystone completed an extensive snowmaking study in the summer of 2001 which looked at the effects of using historic mine-polluted water in its snowmaking practices. This study was designed and conducted in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service, and provides a thorough evaluation of water quality and other environmental impacts associated with metals in the snowmaking water supply. In addition, it provides information about other water quality impacts related to ski area development and operation.
