Dirt Halfpipe

Description:
ASC built the Snowmass halfpipe base out of dirt rather than the traditional approach of using snow. The use of dirt resulted in a savings of 3 million gallons of water and $15,000 in energy costs.

The Golden Eagle Awards for Environmental Excellence were established in 1993 to recognize the environmental achievements of ski areas.
