Energy Use for Lifts
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, WY
Project Title:
Wind Energy

Description:
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) purchases 10% of its electrical power usage through wind energy. This wind energy is enough to power two chairlifts: Moose Creek and Union Pass. Wind energy is clean and renewable and reduces greenhouse gas emissions associated with climate change. We established this program with the power supplier (Lower Valley Energy). Ours was the first contract within the area. The cost is a little higher than the existing rate but the environmental benefits of using clean wind power are worth the extra cost.
