Reservoir

Description:
Stowe Mountain Resort constructed an 111-million gallon snowmaking storage reservoir. Reservoirs allow ski areas to impound water for use during low flow times of the year. The project helped restore minimum stream flows to the West Branch of Lamoille River. Stowe Mountain Resort participates with USGS on water run off analysis.

The Golden Eagle Awards for Environmental Excellence were established in 1993 to recognize the environmental achievements of ski areas.
