Reservoir

Description:
Stowe Mountain Resort constructed an 111-million gallon snowmaking storage reservoir. Reservoirs allow ski areas to impound water for use during low flow times of the year. The project helped restore minimum stream flows to the West Branch of Lamoille River. Stowe Mountain Resort participates with USGS on water run off analysis.

Judges for the Golden Eagle Awards include representatives from the Trust for Public Land, U.S. Forest Service, Wildlife Habitat Council, EPA, Natural Capitalism Solutions, Native Energy, Bonneville Environmental Foundation, Ecos Corporation, Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, Clif Bar, Babes in the Backcountry and National Ski Areas Association.
