Ski Areas Recognized With Marketing, Guest Service Awards
LAKEWOOD, Colo. - May 7, 2007 — Today the National Ski Areas
Association (NSAA) announced the winners of the 2006/07 Marketing and Guest Service
Awards during a reception at NSAA's National Convention and Tradeshow held at the
La Quinta Resort & Club in Palm Springs, Calif. The awards, sponsored this year
by SnoCountry Mountain Ski Association, are presented annually to ski resorts
nationwide, both large and small, for their successful marketing and guest
service programs that ultimately help grow the sports of skiing and snowboarding.
This year’s categories recognized the Best Overall Marketing Program and
Best Overall Guest Service Program in four resort categories based on resort
skier and rider visitation: Up to 99,999 visits; 100,000 to 250,00 visits;
250,000 to 500,000 visits; and 500,000 and more visits.
The 2006/07 winning resorts are:
Best Overall Marketing Program
- Up to 99,999 visits: Powderhorn Resort, Colo.
- 100,000 – 250,000 skier visits: Angel Fire Resort, N.M.
- 250,000 – 500,000 skier visits: Stevens Pass, Wash.
- 500,000 or more skier visits: Okemo Mountain Resort, Vt.
Best Overall Guest Service Program
- Up to 99,999 visits: No entries.
- 100,000 – 250,000 skier visits: Whitetail Resort, Pa.
- 250,000 – 500,000 skier visits: Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort, Ore.
- 500,000 or more skier visits: Beaver Creek Resort, Colo.
Judges for this year’s awards were James Chung, president of Reach Advisors,
Belmont, Mass.; Al Crolius, senior vice president of Action Sports Group; Samantha Rufo,
president of nxt Concepts, Powell, Ohio; and Bernie Weichsel, president of BEWI Productions,
Waltham, Mass. Each of the winning programs will be highlighted in the August issue of
the NSAA Journal.
