Eight Ski Areas Recognized With Annual Industry Safety Awards
LAKEWOOD, Colo. - May 8, 2007 — Today the National Ski Areas
Association (NSAA) honored eight member resorts with its annual Heads Up National
Ski Area Safety Awards at its National Convention and Tradeshow held at the La
Quinta Resort & Club, Palm Springs, Calif. Each season the awards recognize those
resorts that have done an outstanding job of educating employees and guests about
skiing and snowboarding responsibly. The 2007 winners are:
Best Overall Safety Program - Vail Mountain, Colo.
Best Safety Week Program - Northstar-at-Tahoe, Calif.
Best Helmet Safety Campaign - The Summit at Snoqualmie, Wash.

Best Use of the Web in a Safety Campaign - Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort, Ore.
“Dave’s Blog”
Best New Safety Role Models - Beaver Creek Resort, Colo. - “Harry & Milli”
Best Terrain Park Safety Program - Stratton, Vt. - “Safety Education Session (SES)”
Best Pre-Teen and Teen Safety Outreach - Aspen/Snowmass, Colo.
“Teen Video Contest”
Most Creative Use of Online-Video - Bridger Bowl, Mont. - “Bridger Bob”
“Fun was the common thread that ran through the best safety programs this season.

Harry and Milli, it was more evident than ever that ski area volunteers and employees
heartily enjoy the challenge and opportunity to show that safety and fun really
do mix,” said NSAA Education Director Tim White.
Resorts receiving Honorable Mentions include Bear Valley, Calif. and
Snowshoe Mountain, W.Va. Each of the winning programs will be highlighted in the
