NSAA Elects Four New Board Members at National Convention
MARCO ISLAND, Fla. - May 22, 2006 — The National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) announced today the election of four new members to its board of directors. The election was held during NSAA’s National Convention and Tradeshow held at the Marriott Marco Island Resort Golf Club & Spa.
Blaise Carrig, senior vice president and COO of California’s Heavenly Mountain Resort, represents the Sierra region. Prior to his current role, Carrig served as president and managing director for The Canyons, Park City, Utah from 1997 to 2002, and has also served as managing director of Sugarbush Resort, Vt., and vice president and general manager of Sugarloaf/USA, Maine.
Burton R. Mills, COO and general manager of resort operations for Moonlight Basin, Mont., represents the Northern Rockies region. A native of Bethel, Maine, Mills began his ski industry career at Sunday River Ski Resort in nearby Newry. Mills also has served roles as vice president of LBO Holding, a multi-resort company specializing in the design, construction and operation of ski mountain infrastructure and as senior vice president of operations for American Skiing Company, Utah.
Brad Moretz, vice president and general manager of Appalachian Ski Mtn., N.C., represents the Southeast region. Moretz grew up in the ski business working with his parents Grady and Reba at the ski area that Grady helped found. He has served as president and secretary/treasurer of the North Carolina Ski Areas Association and is currently in his second term as president of the Southeastern Ski Areas Association and has served two terms as vice president for the association.
Charles Santry, president of Snow Economics, Inc., Natick, Mass., a snowmaking equipment manufacturing and engineering company, represents the Supplier Members. Among other capacities, he has previously sat on the board of directors at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, Pa.
THE NATIONAL SKI AREAS ASSOCIATION, LOCATED IN LAKEWOOD, COLO., IS A TRADE ASSOCIATION FORMED IN 1962 FOR SKI AREA OWNERS AND OPERATORS NATIONWIDE.
