But don't take it from us... hear from the ski industry's current and future leaders who have elevated their careers and education with help from the Mountain Foundation.

I have recently been working with our marketing team to create an online ADA Resource Page for our area. It was amazing to hear some ideas from other folks that have been helping make the ski industry more accessible… I will definitely be adapting some of those ideas to my resort, and brought back some great resources to dive further into the ADA discussion as well.

While I got answers to specific questions... The value of meeting other professionals face to face cannot be overestimated; from brainstorming with others dealing with similar challenges and questions, to interacting with those who are already utilizing new tools or achieving success in targeted areas, the excitement about the future of the industry was contagious among the participants.

The conference reinforced the importance of fostering a strong safety culture, and how critical it is to provide employees with the tools and training they need to succeed. It was refreshing to hear how other ski areas emphasize clear communication, continuous education, and empowering staff to take ownership of safety, which is something I am passionate about bringing to my role.

Attending the Inclusion Workshop was both inspiring and a powerful reminder of the importance of diverse voices in the ski industry. I walked away feeling empowered to be an advocate for inclusion and to drive meaningful change in our field. The workshop underscored the impact I can have by sharing my experience as a Latina in the industry and embracing the value I bring.

I had the chance to connect with peers from across the industry and engage in meaningful, face-to-face conversations with NSAA staff and board members—something that felt especially impactful as a representative of a small, independent ski area... This experience also pushed me to expand my networking skills and grow more confident in my place within the industry.
