NSAA is thrilled to announce the end-of-year campaign met it's goal of $15,000 worth of contributions. NSAA would like to thank every donor for supporting the Mountain Foundation and the future of the ski industry, and extend a special thanks to the Carrigs for their generous donation of $15,000.
How it all got started
In 2018, NSAA board of directors discussed how the industry could get more ski industry staff to attend valuable education events. That vision became reality in 2019 when NSAA founded the Mountain Foundation 501(c)3. A very generous donation from Blaise and Leslie Carrig gave the foundation a strong start.
Where we are today
Since its inception, NSAA has receive over $200,000 in donations and awarded $50,000 to applicants to attend education events, free of charge.
$200,000 is a fantastic start and we are thrilled with the generosity of our snowsports industry, especially with very little active fundraising on our part. However, as we head into our fifth season we are seeing a slowdown in donations and are now putting a long term plan into action to make the Mountain Foundation sustainable for decades to come.
What's next?
Our goal over the next five years is to raise and award up to $50,000 in grants annually. We know this is ambitious and expect it will take a couple of years to achieve this level of stability. For the 2022-23 our goal is to raise $25,000 and award $40,000 in grants To do this, we need your support. Your donation is an investment in the future of the ski industry and an opportunity to “pay it forward” to the next generation of leaders.
